Craig Clewley – violin

Craig was born in Chester in 1966. He began studying the violin, at the age of 10, through the Clwyd Peripatetic Music Service and was taught by John Jones. Later, he studied privately with Myfanwy George.

He elected not to pursue music as a career, preferring to keep this as a hobby. Instead, he chose Physics, in which he obtained a BSc Honours Degree from Liverpool University in 1988.

Craig has performed in the National Eisteddfod as leader of the Karelia string quartet. He also plays in several local orchestras including the Cambrian Philharmonic and St. John’s Festival Orchestra.

He is currently employed by FT Kemitron at Hawarden. This specialises in the production of complex electronic assemblies.

His other principal interest is cycling.
