David Belton was born in Wrexham in 1983. He became interested in music
at the age of six when he joined a church choir, of which his father was the organist.
He learned to play the drums during his time at secondary school – which led to
him learning the whole percussion range. He studied music at GCSE level and
passed with a grade B. This grade made him decide not to pursue a career in
music but to keep it as a hobby.
David is currently playing percussion for the Wrexham County Youth Band
and City of Chester Brass Band, and also makes an occasional appearance with
the Chester Philharmonic Orchestra. He also sings Tenor in the Four Counties
Youth Choir under the direction of Jean Stanley Jones. He was asked to play for
Wrexham Symphony Orchestra in November 2000 and since then has become an active
member and appeared in every concert. His greatest musical achievement is being
accepted into the National Youth Choir of Wales in March this year.
