WREXHAM
SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA
PLAYER VACANCIES
Would you like to become
a playing member of the Wrexham Symphony Orchestra?
We are always happy to
hear from any players who are interested in becoming new members of the orchestra.
The sections which we would particularly like to expand are violas, cellos,
double basses, percussion and harp. Some of these instruments are
not needed for every concert but we are still looking to fill these positions.
In order to help ensure
that the orchestra is able to give the best possible performance in each of its
concerts, as a member you would be expected to:
- provide details of orchestral and/or solo
playing experience, be
prepared to audition if necessary
- be available for rehearsals on Wednesday
evenings between 7:15 and 9:30 at NEWI William Aston Hall, Wrexham
- contact the conductor well in advance of any
rehearsal you know you cannot attend.
- carry out sufficient private practice during
your own time between each orchestra rehearsal
- pay an annual subscription to help support
the general running costs of the orchestra. This is currently just £50 per
year, or £25 for concessions, payable each September to the Treasurer.
If
you would like to join us, please contact us.
We are also happy to hear from any players whose instrument is not included in
the list above, as from time to time other vacancies do become available, even
if only on a temporary basis.
