I began to learn to
play the cello at the age of 9 following in the footsteps of my elder sister,
Kathryn, who has guested for Wrexham in past concerts.
I
have played in numerous ensembles over the years including, Wirral Grammar
Chamber Orchestra, Wirral Schools' Orchestra, Wirral Schools' String Orchestra,
Merseyside Youth Orchestra (MYO), various string quartets and a string quintet.
Through these ensembles I have been on many tours including courses in Denbigh
with the MYO and tours with Wirral Schools' to Paris, Austria and most recently
to the Czech Republic.
I
gained my Grade 8 to distinction in March 1999 and hope to maintain and improve
upon my standard whilst playing for Wrexham. I decided to join Wrexham Symphony
Orchestra after I left school as I had played in 2 concerts in 1998-9 as a
guest and enjoyed the experience so much I decided to come back for more!!
Music
is a satisfying hobby but it is not my chosen career. I am currently studying
for a BSc (Hons) in Diagnostic Radiography at the University of Liverpool and
hope to graduate in 2003.
