Tina
Boycott is a music graduate of Lancaster University, where she studied singing
with Barbara Robotham. She then studied with Honor Sheppard for two years at the
Royal Northern College of Music, Manchester. On leaving Manchester in 1991 Tina
was awarded a bursary by the Prince's Youth Business Trust to enable her to
pursue her musical career. One of her first appearances was as a guest soloist
at Buxton Opera House with the Janus Ensemble. Since then she has continued to
concentrate on recital and solo work.
Tina has performed most
of the major oratorio works with choral societies throughout Britain. Recent
performances include Bach's Magnificat, Mozart's Requiem Mass, Handel's Messiah
and Semele, Rossini's Petite Messe Solennelle, Haydn's "Nelson" Mass,
Mendelssohn's Elijah, and "Song of Miriam" by Schubert.
Tina is also a member of
the Britten Singers - formerly the BBC Northern Singers - with whom she has made
numerous recordings for BBC Radio, Television and C.D. She has also performed
in many music festivals including the BBC Promenade Concerts, and worked with
such distinguished conductors as Sir Georg Solti and Richard Hickox.
Tina continues to study
with Honor Sheppard as well as singing with the vocal ensemble
"Chudleigh's Cumpanie". She also continues as an accomplished
flautist, and is a Licentiate of the Trinity College of Music, London.
